Lemon Cream Cheese Danish



These can be made quick and easy by using ready made ingredients.  That is the way I am going to present this recipe. I did make my own lemon curd but it took about 8 lemons.

2 ready made puff pastry dough— usually 2 come in a box
1 jar lemon curd
8 oz. cream cheese, softened
2 t. Vanilla
1/2 c. Powdered sugar
1 egg

Place one piece of puff pastry dough on a counter top.  Roll out slightly.  Mix cream cheese, sugar and vanilla well.  Spread 1/2 of this mixture down the center 1/3 of the dough.  Top with 4 oz. lemon curd.  Cut strips along each side. Take turns, starting at bottom overlapping strips.


 Beat egg with 1 T. Water.  Brush over top of dough.  Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes.  Cool and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
