Kimmelweck: Hot Roast Beef Sandwiches

Kimmelweck is basically a roast beef sandwhich on a salted caraway seeded Kaiser roll. The roast beef is sauteed in a beef gravy, then served in the roll.  A dab of horseradish is a great touch also!
My family ate these while living in Buffalo, New York.  On a visit my aunt Jane shared this easy way to make them at home.

For the rolls:
1 roll per person
1 c. water
1 T. cornstarch mixed with 1/4 c. water
kosher salt
caraway seeds

Heat water to boiling, stir in cornstarch mixture.  Boil for several minutes.  Cut each roll in half horizontally.  Brush tops of rolls with conrstarch mixture.  Sprinkle with salt and caraway.  Bake at 350 for 4 minutes.

For the filling:
Cooked roast beef (1# is enough for 4-6 sandwiches)
1-2 c. beef gravy--more gravy for more beeef
horseradish

Heat roast beef and gravy together.  Put a little horseradish on the inside of each bun, then fill with beef and gravy.  Put on bun tops and serve.
